first easter

Easter taught me a new parenting lesson. If I want a day to go a certain way, I either need to plan and prepare for it or just let it go. So although we didn't make it to any egg hunts and these pictures were taken 5 days after Easter, we did enjoy a really wonderful meal with the Krages. G and I made some strawberry rhubarb pies that I can't wait to recreate.

I have really fond memories of the baskets I got growing up. Among other things, June's included a new swimsuit, Eric Carle flashcards, and a pink baseball (courtesy of Daddy). The personalized basket is, of course, courtesy of my mom.

I don't think she noticed she was getting her basket 4 days after Easter.

The dress was made for me by my mom when I was Junebug's age. Its smocked and embroidered with little Jemima Puddle-Ducks, it has little ribbons tying it in the back... and just seeing it on my own baby makes my heart melt. I know I'm constantly saying "made by my mom" on this blog but she won't stop making (or in this case, saving from when I was a baby) amazing things for my baby.

So I guess Easter wasn't a total failure. In fact, it was pretty great.
